Dude, I just did that paper! Except I got a C- :( I think I just didn't choose songs with enough meaning, so my descriptions were super underdeveloped. Good job!
All you have to do is flip a switch in your mind from silent to verbose mode. Start using all the words you learned in English, and paint a picture with words. Yes, even in a persuasive paper.
You can pull meaning out of anything. Just start waxing philosophical and think about it. Start with a question. For example: why do I like mint flavored gum? Possible answers could be: A) that I just do, B) The freshness and coolness elicited by the mint flavor represents a sweet break from the flame of everyday life, or C) (Insert answer that diverts the question in some tangential manner.)
Like I said, it's a switch in the brain... I think I accidentally switched it just now...
